Field Trip for Rock Creek Forest Elementary School

March 22, 2024: We are pleased to announce that EcoHorizons has officially confirmed their second field trip funded under the National Park Trust’s Every Kid Outdoors Small Grant Program (see post here). The trip will bring 100 fourth graders from Rock Creek Forest Elementary School in Chevy Chase, MD to their namesake Rock Creek Park, which is a 15-minute drive away, and for some students, this may be their first experience with the National Park System. The field trip will take place during the early afternoon of May 23, 2024, and we have arranged bus transportation with the local vendor, Central Avenue Transportation Services. 

Over the past few weeks, we have been working with Ms. Linda Jaffe, a fourth grade teacher at the school, who shares the same enthusiasm as we do toward providing outdoor education opportunities for youth. If you are at all interested in bringing your students to Rock Creek Park, whether for a school, summer camp, community center, etc., please do not hesistate to reach us at contact@eco-horizons.org.
